This was shot with a wide-angle lens on a large-format camera. My camera was only a couple of feet away from a guy pulling back on a compound hunting bow, with a laser scope, and a razor-sharp arrow ready to fly. I was under a dark-cloth looking at the scene (upside down and backwards) through my ground glass just hoping that he wouldn't get a cramp (or worse) and start to turn toward me before dropping the bow.
The lighting was provided by studio strobes with red and yellow gels. The location of the laser's beam was marked on the camera ground glass and added later via in-camera multiple exposure.
